Along with our 56 community libraries, we also offer mobile library and access services.
Through these services, we reach communities who are far from our public libraries and provide options for people who are unable to visit. We also promote and support literacy and access to information, and help customers use digital devices and services.
Mobile libraries
We have mobile library buses and vans that provide library services throughout the Auckland region. You’ll find a wide range of books, magazines, audiobooks and other library items onboard, as well as free WiFi.

Skinny Jump internet support
Our mobile library staff can help check whether you are eligible for Skinny Jump – a low cost internet service.
If you’re not online at home because cost is a barrier, our staff can check if you’re eligible and support you to get set up with internet. Learn about Skinny Jump

Pop-up library services
Our mobile libraries pop up at parks, beaches and events around Tāmaki Makaurau. At times, we also go to the Zoo to hold storytimes with books about the environment and interactive kauri dieback activities.
We regularly visit aged care facilities, schools, preschools, marae and kohanga reo.
Library home delivery services
Our delivery service caters to people who are unable to visit a library due to mobility, access or other special circumstances. Volunteers collect library items and deliver them to your home.
If you or one of your whānau are vulnerable people in need of reading material or entertainment but are unable to visit the library, we can help.

Rural libraries
Auckland Libraries works in partnership with 11 rural libraries in the wider Auckland region, supporting them through grants, loans, professional advice to volunteers and book buying.
