On 1 September 2021, we removed overdue fines on customers’ library accounts. You will not be fined for returning items after the due date. This doesn't include inter-library loan overdue fines. See Inter-library loan charges below.
Lost or damaged item
Please take good care of any items you borrow. If you lose or damage a library item, please tell us as soon as possible. The cost to replace the item will be charged. Contact us

Printing and photocopying charges
You get charged for each side you print. If it's double-sided, you pay double.

Research charges
Charges apply to in-depth research, including family and local history, as well as for the retrieval and supply of articles, including community newspapers.
We provide 30 minutes of free research, after which a charge of $25 per half-hour of research applies. One of our research librarians will discuss the scope of any potential charges with you.
Heritage collections images
All of the content provided by Auckland Libraries' Kura Heritage Collections Online is available for personal use. Copyright restrictions may apply. You may order a high resolution file of any of our images files for a fee.

Room hire
Some libraries have rooms for hire – please contact us to discuss price and availability.
If you've lost your card, visit one of our libraries with ID and we will give you a replacement card free of charge.
